Shri. Prodipto Ghosh, I.A.S., Secretary, Ministry of Environment and Forest, Government of India .
Although I am a student of environment, and have read a great deal about the Silent Valley I was yet unprepared for the sheer impact of this virgin, pristine example of he country’s natural heritage. The Silent Valley represents a continuum of natural history, from the origins of man and much beyond, to man’s future and the fate of Homo sapiens.
It must be conserved , not in spite of competing claims of economic development, but because it transcends short term considerations of human welfare and in fact relates to questions of human survival , the human spirit and man’s understandings of his place and purpose on earth.
Shri. V.Anand, General Manager, Southern Railways , Chennai
I am indeed one of the fortunate few who have had the rare experience of visiting the Silent Valley a wonder of the world. I shall never forget the few hours that I spent in the lap of Mother Nature. Kudos the Kerala government and the forest department and the people of Kerala who preserved this wonderland.
Dr. Balkar Singh I.A.S., Assistant Collector , Eranakulam
Visit to the Silent Valley National Park is really an unforgettable experience. By seeing this forest and its biodiversity along with excellent canopy, I think the people have done a good job to protest the Silent Valley Project. I would like to call the Silent Valley National Park as pride of Kerala. The efforts of the Kerala Forest officers and working staff have maintained this forest and I hope it will be conserved in its natural form by their incessant efforts.
Shri. B. Srinivas, I.A.S., District Collector, Palakkad
Spent a beautiful couple of days at Sairanadri and Poochipara. This is where we get overawed and taken in by nature. It is wonderful to forget everything else and just “be” in here. Very educative interpretation center. The best part of course is the staff, who maintain the place very well and most of all are hospitable
Shri. C.P Sudhakaraprasad, Advocate General, Kerala.
Today I visited Silent Valley National Park and rain forest and the adjoining areas of the enjoyed the beauty of it. I very much felt the necessity to preserve the forest in its present condition which is nature’s gift to our state. This material wealth has to be preserved well for the safety of the present and future generations.
Shri. O.Rajagopal, Former Union Minister for Railways
Thanks to all those who worked to protect this valuable heritage, I am happy to see and sense the importance and value of this national wealth.
Shri. K.P.S. Menon
A most fascinating visit. I have seldom done anything so interesting. My wife and I would like to come again and again but dare not do so, because so much trouble is taken over the overwhelming hospitality.
Shri. Himachal Som, I.F.S., AMBASSADOR OF INDIA TO ITALY
This trip to the Silent Valley fulfils a long held dream. Conserving the best and rarest of nature must be our constant endeavor .I was equally pleased to a land of dedicated and Forest officials for whom maintaining flora and fauna of silent valley is sacred task. It will help me to explain better our efforts at FAO’s Forestry meetings.
Shri. Santhosh, NewsEditor, AIR, N. Delhi
Silent valley is an experience of eternity. The beautiful mountains, calm surroundings and serene environment is a teaching for the humans to be humble and caring to nature. For me, it was a memorable break from the hues and cries of a city life. To be in the lap of nature gives all the pleasure .The information centre here has come up marvelously and will be educative for all visitors to come. I thank and commend the efforts of all staff members here towards maintenance and conservation of forest life despite odd living conditions. I wish to visit it again.
