CAMPS
Educational Institutions and Nature clubs can avail Nature Camps organized by the Department of Forests and Wildlife, Government of Kerala. Paid and subsidized camps are allowed. For details contact the Wildlife Warden by phone or e-mail. 30 individuals can attend a camp. Dormitory facility is available along with classes, treks and film shows.
Best time to Visit the Valley
From November to April is the best time to visit Silent Valley National Park
Things to remember when you visit:
Come with a mind to learn more about nature and enjoy the beauty and tranquility of the place. Liquor, camp fire etc are strictly prohibited. Remember that you are visiting a very precious Rain Forest area and approach with respect.
Bring dull colored cotton clothing, shoe, medicines, camera, and other essential items. No fire arms please. Carry your things in rucksacks or cotton bags, No plastic carry bags, plates , cups, bottles etc.
Come in a small group, preferably not more than 6-8 people. Listen to your guide. Never make noise inside forest areas, do not walk alone and be always with the group.
