Sairandhri Trip.
We encourage single day trips since accommodation facilities are limited at Mukkali. From Mukkali, the base camp of Silent Valley National Park, 19 KM away from Mannarkkad, guided trips are operated jointly by the Forest Department and the Eco development Committees through its vehicles. The vehicles ply up to a point called Sairandhri, 23 KM away, along the forested terrain of the buffer zone of the Park. No private vehicles are permitted to travel inside the Park boundary. Visitors can enter the Park from 8AM to I PM every day. Nobody is allowed to stay inside the Park after 6PM. At Sairandhri visitors can trek up to the banks of River Kunthi (1Km) with the help of the accompanying guide. The time span for the entire trip is 5 hrs. Plastic carry bags and Plastic bottles are not permitted inside the Park. Please cooperate with us to keep your Park clean and beautiful.

Perhaps it was all worth it. Some human being walking through it sometimes, passing an inner revolution, shall ask the question : " Oh Mother, am I thy flesh and blood, feel and fever; shall I be thine and would would you be mine ?" That Silent question will be responded to in Silence; in the Silence by the reverential bowing of human will and the trailing branches of trees in Silent Valley.
